Kalmbach is currently seeking a VP-Finance/CFO to join our senior leadership team.  Reporting to the CEO, the VP Finance/CFO provides leadership focused on the financial requirements of the Company. This position leads the strategic effort to develop and execute financial strategies and ensure the integrity and compliance of the financial function. The position serves as a key adviser to all areas of the Company, providing insight and expertise through effective planning, proactive analysis, forecasting, and strong communication.  Key areas of responsibility include:

Strategy and Leadership

  • Lead the overall financial direction for the company and provide strategic guidance and well-reasoned insight on all financial issues affecting the business.
  • Define/administer financial policies, procedures, reporting, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Provide oversight, direction and support to the Accounting and Credit departments.

Financial Management/Administration:

  • Oversee and implement the annual budget and annual report.
  • Facilitate and lead the Company's Investment Committee.
  • Direct and plan for the tax compliance and general business insurance affairs of the company. Assist with legal affairs and counsel as requested.
  • Lead the financial aspects of managing the company's 401k/Profit Sharing and Pension benefit plans, investing strategies, and serve as a fiduciary. Manage company stock valuation.
  • Direct analyses and studies on costs and financial proformas for proposed activities.
  • Lead the financial evaluation of all acquisitions, partnerships, and joint ventures.

Financial Reporting/Analysis:

  • Prepare financial reports with a focus on actionable analysis and recommendations.
  • Responsible for expense management with a focus on identifying cost reduction and driving profitability.
  • Identify critical performance measures. Develop and maintain accurate forecasting tools that provide forward-looking analysis.

Our preferred candidate will have 20+ years of increasingly responsible accounting and financial background including corporate financial leadership roles. Public accounting, magazine and/or media, investment management, Retirement Plan (401k, pension, etc.) management, and M&A experience are all helpful. Due to the unique nature of the Company's culture, the type of person we seek is as important as their specific experience.  Of particular interest are attributes that combine some of the following:
